Clermont Castle

Located not far from the city of Annecy, Clermont is now a museum which serves also as an art gallery. Temporary exhibits are periodically put on display. The castle itself possesses a set of galleries (see photo below) which line the interior courtyard and which give the structure an airiness and elegance unusual in the castles of Savoie. The only Renaissance castle in the region, it was built starting in 1575 on the road between Geneva and Chambéry.
